Qantas was in the news recently for not allowing Australian singer, Kate Ceberano into their business lounge because she didn’t adhere to the dress code rules. According to their guidelines the wearing of thongs, gym wear, boardshorts, Ugg boots, revealing, unclean and torn clothing are not permitted. The introduction of the dress code last year was so doubt because they airline didn’t want people in their lounges to look like they were in their own lounge room at home or at the beach or local pub. ..

This week I was in Canberra speaking at a breakfast and presenting a workshop on Public Relations for business group Small Biz Intelligence. One story I shared with attendees was about an article I wrote many years ago called from Fitness to Fame about fitness guru Michelle Bridges. In that article I included the top 10 tips to PR success which I’ve included in this blog.The story was printed in a small business magazine which Michelle showed to the team at Fitness Australia. The article then appeared in their magazine. On the strength of that story I was invited to speak at the Fitness Australia AGM breakfast and on to present at their annual conference Filex. So publicity does work!  ..

I had a call recently from a journalist from The Adviser asking me to contribute to an article he was writing on branding strategies for business. Of course I said, “Yes!” In chatting with the journalist I asked, “Where did you hear about me?” And the answer was that he had done an online search and from my website newsroom it appeared that I was an expert in this area.
